All DJ's and entertainers must provide us with a copy of their PLI (Public Liability Insurance) and work within our entertainments safety policy - Please ensure when booking any DJ's or entertainers they have a current PLI and PAT safety cirtificate.

Rattlers Club (Rattlers Function Room - Rattlers Sports and Music Bar) 

We Proactively operate Challenge 25 and all our staff undergo regular training and briefings for all private events. You may be challenged by all staff members not only while purchasing alcohol at the bar but we also challenge any person while drinking on the premises. 

No Soft Drinks or Alcohol can be brought on the premises by any person.

Persons under 18 Years of age are not allowed to purchase drinks, snacks or refreshments from the bars and must be kept a reasonable distance from our bar sales areas.

There are good reasons why buying alcohol is illegal for under-18s. Alcohol can be harmful to children and young people, with health risks including acute alcohol poisoning, an increased risk of becoming involved in violence, and damage to still developing organs like the brain and liver.

As a result we now have the UK’s first purpose built cool vacuum distillation plant. This allows us to start with great tasting, fully alcoholic liquids, and then very gently and very quickly remove the alcohol. This allows us to keep the same full strength personality, character and flavour of the original, whilst delivering a truly tasty AF range of drinks.

Our unique process is a much softer process: Gently teasing out the alcohol whilst making sure the flavour and aromas are kept throughout the process and treating it gently with respect – meaning the resulting drink is a perfect alternative to an alcoholic drink.

We believe that to get the best tasting 0% alcohol products takes the same time, effort and craft as traditional brewing involves and this care and attention means that our products deliver all the taste, aroma and mouth feel of an alcoholic drink.

To compliment this there is no artificial sweeteners in any of our drinks, and they are also suitable for vegans. Our beer does contain gluten (although we are working on this), but our cider is gluten free and all products are Halal

Under 18s

All Under 18's Must Be Off The Premises for 22:00hrs 

As a Licensed Premises with no members under the age of 18, by law we do not need to have a Child Protection Policy per se.  However, as a club with both meets and events where children (under 18s) are in attendance, the organisers and participants of these meets and events need to be clear that:

J.A Knowles T/A Rattler Club is aware of its responsibility to protect children when engaged in any activities on our Premises and outer areas.

Key is that all staff where there are children (under 18s) involved in any activity, have a duty of care towards these children (under 18s).

In particular, organisers of parties need to be informed and aware of their responsibility of care when there are children (under 18s) present, and where necessary have parental consent forms in place. 

The parents and participants on meets and/or at events are aware of their responsibilities in accordance with the guidance set out in this paper.  

For child safety all staff are trained to enforce a zero tolerance policy to any soft drinks, containers, cans or bottles being brought on to the premises and prominent signage is displayed along with an agreed contractual agreement with the function room hirer. 

No children under 18 shall be allowed outside of the safety of the function room area unless accompanied by an adult. 

Children (under 18s) are allowed to attend Rattlers Club and private parties can only be organised if their parents/carers are also taking part in that meet or have designated another adult Member to act in loco parentis.

A responsible adult over the age of 18 shall be designated by the party organiser to ensure all communal areas used by non party attendants (Customers & Visitors to our Premises) are monitored and kept clear at all times.

The outer areas adjacent to Rattlers must be monitored regularly by party organisers and kept free from persons congregating.

For safety we do-not allow children playing chase or tag in communal areas and responsible adults along with staff members must ensure this does not take place due to the risk of injury.

The raised stage area is for DJ’s Artists Singers and performers only, although up to Two persons Maximum are allowed on stage to for the purpose of short speeches, Clear signage is displayed on the stage area that Children are not allowed on the stage.

Children 18 and under must be off the premises for 22:00 hrs and party organisers must ensure that all children under 18 have safe passage home or to their designation.

Party organisers shall agree to meet all costs incurred should a member or Rattlers staff have to be designated to ensure children under 18 are provided with safety as set out in the above document. As of 01/01/2025 the cost incurred shall be £30 PER HOUR
